XP Home or XP Pro? [Archive] - Northern Sound Source

Do the differences between Windows XP Home and Professional versions have much impact on performance in the DAW and/or GigaStudio realm? Or to put the question more directly: if I were shopping for a new computer that will primarily be used for DAW and GigaStudio applications, would there really be any reason to lay out the extra money for XP Pro instead of XP Home?

The main difference is that Pro offers networking facility. For a daw go with home
