View Full Version : Create an FTP site for brief demos of piano samples?

(I originally posted this in the Planet 3 Piano thread, but thought it might appeal to other readers, as well.)

Does anyone have space to create an FTP site for wave recordings of all these pianos, so everyone could get a better sense of how they really sound? (Wave files get huge very fast, of course, so the demos might have to be limited to 30 seconds or so.)

Such a site could be jointly supported. I would gladly pay to help sponsor such a site. (I wish I had the hard drive space and bandwidth to create such a site myself.) Would other members of this forum be willing to provide financial support? The more contributors, the less each would have to pay. (Could Northern Sounds help with the site, if we pooled together funding?)

Good idea, but why not mp3s? It would make it smaller after all

Have you guys ever heard of the Piano Shootout page:

No, no. The point would be to post Wave files, since mp3s alter the timbre. (Many thanks to the host of the piano shootout, but .wavs would let us hear still more accurately how the pianos sound.)
