Wow Kirk, this sounds pretty incredible! The trumpet solo has this dark tone which sounds so nice in the orchestral music. I got goosebumps when the trumpet/string section came with that sweeping phrase. They blend in very very nicely! images/icons/smile.gif The horns really cut through the mix nicely as well, very MASSIVE sound. The trumpet solo is reminiscent of that same tone the miroslav solo trumpets have. Can\'t wait to hear more.

That trumpet sounds great, Kirk. I know we\'re talking about the trumpet here, but also...I\'m assuming those fantastic sounding strings are yours too?

Yes Aaron,
It sounded great, but half of that was a good sample, the rest was good composition!! Now if I took that sample and....well, I won\'t embarrass myself... images/icons/smile.gif

mahlon,
Yes, those are the Virtuoso Series Strings that have been out and available for years. (This piece is featuring the \"con sordini\" strings for the most part.)
Birdwizard,
Naw, the composition is nothing special. In fact, the trumpet without any of the surrounding orchestration sounds cool on its own...but that\'s only an opinion.

Yes Kirk,
Your trumpet does sound good, probably even on it\'s own, but your being humble.

The demo sounds excellent Kirk!
Not to change the subject but.. how are the solo strings coming along? Haven\'t heard anything about them for a few months and you really whet my appetite for them with the demos you posted. Any idea of when they\'ll be shipping or any new demos?
Thanks,
Mike

I am amazed! Jawdropped! These strings are amazing! So soft - far softer the I ever heard GOS. Amazing! Sometimes the past shouldnt be overheard. Wow! To die for!

Ohhhh yesss, I got these strings recently, and they ARE to die for. Here\'s a quick WORK IN PROGRESS that I made in 20 minutes:
( www.aaronsapp.com/Piano.mp3 (\"http://www.aaronsapp.com/Piano.mp3\") )
It was a tear jerker for me with these strings. I\'m surprised not as many people use them as I thought. I must admit, it\'s kinda tough just having 2 velocities, but I only use the high velocities anyway for the really INTENSE and dramatic stuff.
Oh yea, I found out who Paula Abdul was. Yikes.

Ok, I\'ll try to answer a few questions here.
1) Solo Strings:
Currently, working on the viola and cello. I think I nailed the violin, but I want to get the same expression on the rest of the instruments. Release time? Before the brass for sure....estimate around middle of Nov.
2) Soft Strings:
I\'ve not created any demos of the strings you heard in the Solo Trumpet demo. Those are the muted sections. They are exclusive to the Giga format. Note...there will be a new Virtuoso Series Strings library soon as well...but it\'s still in the recording phase. At the time of creating the original Virtuoso Series Strings, there were memory limitations. Now, since the \"sky\'s the limit\" in that regard, we\'ll be adding tons to the original VS Strings...and it will all still be in the same \"vein\"...that \"Cinematic\", \"Hollywood\" feel that\'s basically my forte. What we DON\'T want to do is re-create anything that\'s already out there in the other good libraries available.
Thanks for all the questions.

I\'ve used Kirk Hunters strings on several projects and have found they sit very nicely in a full orchestra. I always get the \"wow! what strings did you use for that?\"
I guess this thread\'s kind of turned off subject, but those strings are very good.
