What's this about a utility to limit QuickSound searches?

Does anyone know whether it is true that a utility exists to limit Quicksound to search only in a specific folder for .GIGs--and NOT search all the folders of all of your hard disks, hang up and crash?

YEAH, it happend to me also. I had to re-install Gigastudio and now it is looking -again- for .gig files in all drives in my computer, when -obviously- they are only in one folder. And it takes forever. It seems to hang up, but no, it\'s been now about 20 minutes...

I hope someone could help us...

It also caltalogs all wav files. It can take a hour or more...

Nemesys sent me a utility to configure Quicksound to only scan the computer for specific types of files. It doesn\'t allow you to point to a specific folder, but does allow you to choose only .GIG files if that\'s what you want. This really helped me out since I have tons of WAV loops on my system and only want GS160 to use GIG files. Once I told the utility to only use GIG files, I restarted GS160 and had it refresh my database. It went pretty quick compared to the 45 minutes it did before.

You can either contact Nemesys tech support for the utility (they emailed it to me), or send me an email at ronlucas00@onebox.com, and I\'ll send it to you. It\'s pretty small; 24K, and I believe it modifies some registry settings GS uses.

turning QuickSound off from any further
searches? That might solve this absurd
problem that Nemesys created when they
absent-mindedly forgot to include any
options to turn QuickSound off or limit
QuickSounds searches on one file folder.

I suppose it\'s possible. The utility is really simple. You just place check boxes next to what you to scan. So, in theory, you could uncheck everything and maybe turn it off.
