Will a CPU upgrade require GPO re-authorization?

I run GPO on a WinXP box with a Celeron 2.2 CPU. I am planning on replacing the Celeron with a P4 (I will be replacing ONLY the CPU - not the entire motherboard - as my existing motherboard is fully compatible with the P4).

My question is: will I need to re-authorize GPO after doing this?

The answer is \"that depends\". images/icons/wink.gif I think there is some flexibility to minor changes in the System ID. However, you\'d probably need to check with NI directly.

I can tell you I changed out a P4 2.0ghz for a P4 2.6ghz and did not have to re-register anything.

I ghosted my hard drives and moved them to a new system with a new motherboard, CPU, hard drives and memory and it did not have me reauthorize! Was quite surprised as the old motherboard had an 845 chipset and the new one an 875 chipset.

wow. I wonder how they are generating the System ID then. Wierd. Glad to hear its pretty flexible though. I change my hardware configs all the time.
