View Full Version : First orchestral type compositions

I\'ve been doing pop songs for some years now but have just tried my hand at orchestral type music (thanks to GPO, which made it look a lot less scarier).

Each piece took 4-5 hours and is done using GPO in Sonar3 without any effects (i.e. the final tracks were rendered to mp3 straight from the midi tracks). I\'ve used a rhythm loop in the first and third track, the second one uses GPO percussion. The titles might seem odd, but there\'s a story behind that..

I would appreciate some opinions and suggestions on how I could improve, both in terms of composition and instrument sounds, and any orchestral mistakes I might have commited.

Fun stuff! I especially like the 3rd one. But they all give me a big --> images/icons/grin.gif

The fake drum roll in #2 is a bit distracting. There is a drum roll in GPO. You might try using that instead?

I enjoyed your compositions. They are fun. The only suggestion is to try using some ambience with the mix.

You must tell us the story behind the title. images/icons/grin.gif

Thanks for posting these.
