View Full Version : Best 4 Port Midi Device for Win XP?

I bought a Midi Express XT for GS 160 for Win XP. Bloody Hell! Stuck notes etc.
Previously I was using a Midiman 4X4S- No Problems under WIn98.
Has anyone found the perfect 4 Port Midi Interface for XP?
Motu should be ashamed of themselves.
BTW I found the Motu 896 works very well with GIGA. 169 poly no problem with Athlon 1.4

From what I\'ve read, it\'s best to avoid USB MIDI interfaces since the USB interface is too slow compared to parallel, serial, or Firewire.

Most of the newer USB MIDI interfaces should work fine. The problem mentioned above was caused by earlier motherboards such as the Intel 440BX chipset boards. This gave USB MIDI interfaces a bad name.

I\'ve found the EGOsys Miditerminal 4140 to be a great 4x4 MIDI interface for gigastudio. The timing is awesome, the price is great. And it\'s pretty small... another bonus is that it doesn\'t use a wall wart for power!

There is no reason that the Motu Express XT shouldn\'t work except for bad drivers.
USB is a no brainer I get 160 Poly no problem EXCEPT for the damn hanging notes.
Anyone using Midiman 4x4 or 8x8 USB with WIN XP?

I am using Windows XP Professional, and the Add Hardware Wizard says it\'s working properly. Where in WinXP do you set up your MIDI interfaces?
