I have just been reading the manual for HALion 3 which has been posted by Steinberg. Part of the sample content contains a GOS demo, and the literature quotes:

"Welcome to this demo version of Garritan Orchestral Strings HALion 3
version. The Garritan Orchestral Strings library has become the new
standard in sample libraries and now these “HALion 3” patches are yours to
enjoy. These patches are fully usable and represent a small fraction of the
full Orchestral Strings library the will be available for HALion 3."

I was just wondering if there is anything you would like to tell us Gary? (Hint, hint,... )

Thanks in hope

Ian

Hi Ian,

24bit patches of GOS 2 are contained in the Halion 3 content disc. These are full working patches (not crippled patches). These patches make use of the new and innovative features of Halion 3.

Thanks Gary,

I hope/assume that this means the full GOS2 library will eventually be available natively for HALion. I am really glad about this. For me, HALion has always been my sampler of choice and the one I use for the current GOS library. I find the UI to be very easy to use, disk streaming to be very reliable and program change messages are a real bonus. With some of the new features coming along in HALion3 - things can only get better!
