I hear that we will get a free calandar with every purchase. ;)

A joke: What does GigaStudio have in common with Playboy Magazine?

Miss April. Miss May. Miss June... ;) ;) ;)

But seriously, I hope that they can make the July deadline. I bet the developers haven't had much sleep in months.

Jokes aside, I wish the Giga team the best of luck!

Thought I'd throw a joke out there in the sea of GS3 anticipation, sorry I couldn't help myself.

I bought a copy of HALion 3 to hold me over until GS3, Although who knows?
it could end up as a permanent replacement.

Brings to mind the pronouncement Dr. Gary Kildall was rumored to have made that fateful day in 1980 from the cockpit of his areoplane,

"No program will be ready before it's time!"

Who was Dr. Kildall and, what was the context?

Probably the best historical summary was by a former employee of his, Gordon Eubanks:

... which to my mind makes the Tascam GS3 release seem kind of like Ground Hog Day, all over again. Sorry, Yogi.

August, huh? Just a joke, you say?

Perhaps you didn't look closely at the latest press release: http://www.tascam.com/press_release.php?pid=44

Now go outside, enjoy the summer before it's over! :)

Well, I'll believe it when I see it, lol! Guess I might have to eat my words. Oh well, the press rel and the contents thereof sound very cool indeed.

What I meant was: take a close look at the press release... it says "end of July". Everyone knows that "end of July" is a euphemism for "most likely after July, hopefully sometime in August, but no guarantees". ;)

Like I said: go outside and enjoy the summer before it's over! :)

From what Synthetic wrote it does look as if they may ship in July, but with Tascam one never really knows for sure - should I start a September thread??

I am sure Tascam is wishing they never released a 'release date' (hindsight being 20/20). But with all the competition, I am sure they had their reasons (keep people from jumping ship to another engine - as one likely one.) I for one, thoroughly love my two machines running GS2.5. I say release 3.0 ONLY when most of the major bugs are gone. None of us can afford to be down and out for the count while bugs are worked out on all our machines and our TIME.

Best wishes Tascam. We are expecting big things and my gut says the product will meet the hype.

Exactly. I'd rather wait til september to get the most stable softsampler ever, than to get this buggy product. And on the bright side, they're also including some stuff from VSL now, so there's not much to complain I guess.

I hope people will be impressed with the quality of the release. I know that many people worked extremely hard on making it as bug-free as possible. Inevitably, there are bugs, because hardware/usage scenarios that no one would ever imagine come into play with a larger base of users.

But as the "veil" is lifted and people are more free to speak about the product and process, I think people will be happy about what went into it. The development team behind this product is extremely talented and hard working, and I think it shows.
