I have an Athlon Thunderbird 800 lying around and am looking to build a PC
dedicatred to cakewalk and Gigastudio. Any advice on motherboards, OS, etc?
Should I go with AMD chipset (761, etc) or via?

I plan on using a delta Audiophile.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Id go Asus A7vKT133

buy some cheap ram and load it up. Get a WD 40 gig HD and reun it on the ATA100 bus jsut for Gigs.

I\'ve got a 1 gig Tbird running on about the same system and it works well. get around 150-160 note poly with a WamiRack 24

Hi,
I would imaging that maybe the Asus A7V133 might be a good choice for that processor. I think it run the Thunderbird.

Also, it has an extra ATA-100 disk controller, so you could, if you wanted to, put your sample disk on a separate IDE cable. I think that would be quite clean.

Take care,
Mark
