Is it going to be possible to set the volume/expression at a fixed level in the instrument's panel in a future upgrade, so that you open an instrument with the volume where you set it without resorting to the mod wheel just to get the volume up? And maybe vary the volume up and down from this fixed level with the mod wheel? Would be a big help blocking out composition in a sequencer. I've heretofore put in a starting modulation value in the matrix editor, but this is a workaround.

It is already possible to do this depending on what sequencer you are using. Right now, it is mainly Logic that automatically resets to "0" but the next version will fix it and also there is a workaround on our Logic page.
Also, the next GPO update will have assignable controllers which will also solve this porblem. It will be possible to set the volume/expression at a fixed level in the instrument's panel.
Hope this helps.
