What I'm getting at is: EVERYONE POSTING THEIR FAVORITE CUE / PIECE OF MUSIC (that they wrote obviously).

the purpose? Just to hear what people here consider their best work "so far"..... not for any competitive reasons. (composers competitive? NEVER!!! :D)

There are plenty of people here that I've never heard a peep from. ;)

Ok, go...... let's hear it. Don't be shy.....

BTW--- it would be nice if no one commented on the music... to keep things uncluttered. I'm talking, like, just posting the link and nothing else... no comments no disclaimers etc.....

I can´t post only the link...you need to go to my website and listen to "The Mummy intro - Getting to Egypt"!!!

I was going to save the first post of my music for once I was actually using samples, :D I just bought my first sample lib YEAY FOR ME!! :D but the only cues I have up now are MIDI.

I'm a student composer, so any and all feedback from anyone would be greatly appreciated. I want to learn! :) Though keeping to the rules of the thread, you might want to send a PM to do so.

http://www.avartists.com

My favorite cue to film would be "Peacemaker" in the video cues section, and my favorite music only piece would be "Overman Odyssey" in the audio clips section of my site. Notice how I said "favorite" as I do know which pieces are my "best." Any help in that department would also be appreciated!

I'm very much looking forward to hearing what other members are doing. I've been visiting this site for close to 2 months now, and what I've heard so far has been AMAZING (thus my hesitation to post my own work :)

Great thread idea KID!! You got me to post before I was ready! :p

This is not orchestral music, but acappella choral music which I equally love to write.

Hey Kid, mine is probably; Moody Thoughts (http://www.scottcairns.com/audio/Moody_Thoughts.mp3) - there are still some ideas I want to develop further in it, but for some reason, I just enjoy listening to this one. (Rare for your own music I guess.)

Nice chior tune!

This is an arrangement of "Minstrel Boy" for a Marine Corps based computer game that we are scoring. Its not quite finished. The music really gets going half way through after the choir part.

Not my best, but I kinda like this piece in a very HanzyKlaus sort of way...not really intentionally, just what came out!

I've listened to them all so far..... cool stuff.

Ok first of all, F' the rules!!!! it's apparent you guys don't take "direction" very well! :D

Second: Mr. Aaron has both won and disqualified himself from the "contest".... :p nice go'n..... ;)

Third: My god was that a lot to go through to listen to your music Leo.... :D Just say'n....

Fourth: Right, this is NOT about "what is my most IMPRESSIVE cue", it's about what is "my personal" favorite, orchestral or otherwise.... Yeah, this is just an interesting way to look at each others work from our own perspective.

This would be my personal fav. (*disclaimer* ;) -----> yes, and it's probably my most minimal as well, and not orchestral) I just like the vibe.

Yo peps,

My first post here! Weeeeeeeeeew!

Not my best - but one of my latest -

Check the classical guitar solo - its all "fake" - pretty proud of it

Impressive, I'm proud of you too! I do not recognize the guitar samples. Is it your own brew?

hmmm, i think my nuclear dawn demo is probably my best track i did so far.

tho, i am still learning and improving, so i would see it more as a photography of my work progress/process - so i hope there will be some better compositions in the future :)

i feel already like spamming to post this composition again, so it will be the last time to not bother you guys anymore :)

I wrote this out of the influence of Joe Hisaishi and Yoko Kanno, even though it had no friggin piano. I know Aaron Sapp is also a fan. :) I usually use some type of Anime influence when I write music, which could also be the enormous geek coming out in me. YIKES! Sample work could be improved a little, but I was happy with it at the time of completion.

*Anime is NOT cartoons darn it* ;)

Here is the music from my band! The song name is "Waterfields" and the band is "InWave". Since it is just temporary stuff I will let the song there for a week. The mix is not final.
We don't have an album yet but soon we will start working on it.

I still enjoy hearing this once in a while. I wrote the music, play guitar and sing. My friend, Bruce Ogden, wrote the words, and sings the lead and plays the steel string guitar solo. My other friends, Steve Ragsdale and Steve Terrell sing backup.

Recorded (Live stereo) in '74. The echo/delay is tape delay from monitoring through a stereo while recording. B.O. died in '94. So, here's to the Big B.O.!

I'm still listening... I notice some people aren't posting. I don't think sharing one's music is a negative to me it's a positive. What's to lose? Post something, anything. This is that thread to post.....

Tokyo Joe,,, the vibe of that reminded me so much of U2. Not that I think you ripped 'em off, or even that it was intentional. But as i listened I had a whole melody line for vocals pop into my head, in the style of Bono-ish. I used to be a singer. ;) I like that tune.......

Excerpt from a sampled guitar oriented tune. I feel it was recorded a little low in volume. Not my "best" work by any means... but I kinda like it anyway. :)

My fav. peice is a for a cutscene. It makes little sense musicaly without the scene playing - but I love it becuase it works SO well. I'm not aloud the post the cutscene though since the game isent released till 2005 :(

Hi Gang,

I guess I'll throw in my 2 cents worth.

Here are two I've always been kinda proud of.

"Rat Race" http://www.soundclick.com/util/streamM3U.m3u?ID=863735&q=Hi
Hectic short orchestral piece, lots of 5/4 :)
*note, for some reason my mp3 encoder put 6 minutes of silence at the beginning, but it does start if you're patient :)

"Rompera La Catena" http://www.soundclick.com/util/streamM3U.m3u?ID=863820&q=Hi
I wrote this for a 9 minute silent black and white mob film. The recording isn't perfect, and there are plenty of intonation problems ( I was working with student musicians) but dammit if there isn't emotion.

Enjoy!

Best,
Ric Zimmerman
