Help! I'm experiencing several problems exporting material. I'm using Cubase SX 2 rewired to Giga3.

I loaded up the vsl flute sus and everything plays/sounds right within cubase sx. I then go to export it with File/Export/Audio Mixdown and suddenly the file exports with some problems. First as soon as it finishes exporting it makes an unpleasant sound burst like it's only rendering the last note. It has never done this before with rewire (I use reason and sx rewire also).

The resulting wav file renders the full project, but only renders with each of the first milliseconds of each note sounding then cutting off immediately.

Below is a link to the resulting file

I read the manual and it looks like I've been doing things properly. I've been using Reason with Cubase rewired for quite some time now. So it's not like I'm new to this. Haven't had a problem with that combination yet. I could have overlooked something though.

Finally I'm an upgrader so I didn't register GS3 yet - will do that tomorrow. I'm not sure if the registration issue is what's causing this?

Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

I switched to GSIF operation for testing purposes in the meantime and was able to record without problems, just like GS2.

I have no idea what's causing the rewire export issues at this point. I also upgraded to the newest SX patch just to see how things would turn out. Same problems.

Any cubase sx users having this problem?

I don't have GS3 yet, but have you tried the real time export function in Cubase SX (there's an option in the audio export dialog) ?

This is likely it. Please try that setting. Many testers were using Cubase, so I suspect it is something extremely simple. I personally don't use Cubase, but this sounds reasonable.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I did Authorize my copy today to make sure that wasn't the problem maker. I also did a clean install of Giga3.

Unfortunately rendering it resulted in the same problems as before. I did try the Real Time export function and there's still a lot of audio problems. Notes getting cut off and wierd clicks and pops.

Here is a mp3 of the Real Time export result.

At this point, I'm stumped. Thanks for any help.

Yep, I'm getting this too...

Well that is a relief. At least it's not just me then.

I'm surprised, that if this is indeed a bug that it missed the beta testers group.

Hopefully a solution, or fix for this might be forthcoming...

That sounds just like the problem I had using Giga VST.

Which soundcard are you using?

I have an Athlon 2 Ghz, 1.5 GB RAM, IDE 7200 RPM Seagates, and as far as the soundcard it's a Echo Gina 24/96 with the latest drivers. I haven't had problem exporting Reason Rewire projects though. Also VST's like atmosphere, stormdrum and QLSO are all working in the same pc with no problems.

Layla 24. It seems like there could be some problems with Echo card..??
I've heard something about a GSIF2 driver, but maybe that's the current one 6.08?

Well it looks like there's a similarity going on here. I'm using the newest, 6.08 Driver, that doesn't have GSIF2 though. The newest released driver is like a year old.

I guess the next thing we need to find out is if other Cubase SX, Giga3 rewire users with other soundcards than Echo are getting this problem.

Yes, and since Echo is discontinuing Layla 24, it could be that we never see a 7.0.
Makes me regret I got gid of my Delta 1010!
Has anyone with another card managed to get proper export using GS3 and rewire?

Says that Layla is GSIF2 compatible...???

I thought I read Bruce saying some weeks ago that Echo planned to release new drivers to coincide with GS3's debut.

I am using Cubase Rewired to Reason without problems. In theory shouldn't SX and Reason or SX and Giga rewire work in the same fashion?

Yes, in theory....
Bruce - Have you heard anything about a new Echo driver?

They have had it in beta for some time. The last time I spoke with Matt (their chief engineer), he was fixing an unrelated SP2 issue. That is probably why the driver is not yet up. I can't imagine that it will be long.

The Echo driver is for both MIDI and audio, by the way. Both work well. Hopefully, very soon you'll be able to download it.

Yes!!! Hope it will take care of some other problems too!

Can any other SX/Rewire users confirm either way if they have problems or not?

Yes, folks, try this and speak up please!! The developers need to know the scoop on this, for sure. I had no access to their bug database as a tester, but I cannot imagine that Cubase in and of itself is a ReWire problem, since so many people use it. Hopefully there's something very simple at work here, which can be resolved.

I'm having similar problems using Sonar 3 Producer with a darla 20 card. Anyone out there having success with Sonar?

Looks like an Echo problem then or at least Echo and Giga.

Anyone else with Cubase and GS3 around here to confirm either way? Where are you people. ;)

I am experiencing the EXACT same problem. I even tried realtime export. I'm using Cubase SX and a Delta 66 card. I really had wanted this function to work, It's the main reason I upgraded!

I'm using G3.03 (latest patch), SX 3, and RME Hammerfall Digiface, and I'm having problems, too. My problems are that the rendered audio plays back at a different tempo. I set the RME as both master and slave, and stil get the problem.
