Recording Audio in GS3?

Thoughts on recording audio in GS3.

You punch the record button in the output channel controls and then push the big red button and it asks you for a filename and starts recording.

What specifically did you want to know?

Can you record audio in the same environment that you do your midi? Say I create an instrumental, and I want to put a vocal to it. Do I have to jump through hoops in order to do this or is it relatively easy?
