What is better- Dual Channel or DDR2?

Ultimately, I wish to know what processor base is better than the other, Pentium Extreme Edition, Dual Xeon Setup, or an Athlon based chip. The benchmarks show that the Athlon FX-55 is the fastest, but in sampling RAM plays a huge part, and Intel suports DDR2. Is DDR2 better than Dual Channel?

Right now I've heard that Dual Channel is faster, but in the future DDR2 will be.
