View Full Version : How to kill Win98 startup sound?

Hi Gang.

Anyone know how to do this? It starts to chime when I startup, but then is interrupted when GigaStudio begins to run. (I have GS loaded in my Startup items folder). I have a Dakota soundcard, which I am also using for my system sounds (ie running a movie or listening to a CD).

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds.
Over there choose No Sound from the preset dropdown list to remove all sounds. Or just remove the sound you dislike most from the list. OK. Done.
