This link is to a REAL demo sent to Nashville producer! I guarentee you have NEVER heard a Christmas carol performed like this. It literally brought tears to my eyes.
p.s. It REALLY kicks in around 2:00... and in all honesty it could have been mixed a little better. (But I'm just picky.)

Thanks. That's hilarious! I needed a good laugh. :D

It's kinda hard to hear the guy over the sound on fingernails being dragged down the blackboard.
I'd compare the purity of his tone to that of either Karen Carpenter or a badger in the throws of death.

Not as sacreligious as that performance!
That clown definitely was not making a "joyous noise". A chainsaw thrown into a wood chipper would make a more joyous noise.

Oh you'll get no argument from me whatsoever on that point!! I was sort of reacting to the whole affair... plus it's just nice anytime you get to do a Homer Simpson reference... :D
Hmm.. I never did get any response back from that producer after I originally submitted this. I guess he's shopping it around - not sure how it ended up here. Glad you'all liked it :)

This performance devastated my very being and suddenly I felt whole with the universe. First time ever the christmas spirit has been captured the way I have always felt it deserves to be captured. Divine work.

Yeah, I'm in the market for a vocal mic and I NEED the one that he's using!!! This was his first single from his album, "My Christmas in Pain".
Seriously guys, I hope this post made you laugh half as hard as I did. (I think I even soiled myself.) When I found out this was a "serious" demo I just about lost it. Merry Christmas everybody (and especially you Mr. Mystery-Guy, I hope you keep that dream of stardom alive.)

No way... I mean, no friggan way. Is he deaf?
But hey, at least I couldn't stop laughing about this. The WORST singing I have ever heard (if it was serious). Well, next time I meet a vocalist who is a bit concerned about how they sound, I'll play this for 'em. This makes ME sound good...and I can't sing on key :D

Well the important thing to remember is that he clearly enjoyed singing it:) . That’s all that counts:) . I just prefer to be about 6 time zones away when someone does this. :p
No way... I mean, no friggan way. Is he deaf?
Probably not, but he could make the most passionate musician wish that they were.

It sounds as if the guy had 'risen from the deaf'!
Nice lyrics though.....:D

This is a joke. It has to be. The only way I could make a sound that bad would be to swing a bag of kittens over my head in a closet.

C'MON GUYS, be a bit more supportive!
Seriously...
A touch of auto tune, a little double tracking and it'll be ready for prime time.
It's not his fault the string section couldn't hold a note.
I was touched.

I've saved this to play at our family Christmas celebration. I've sure it will bring down the house, or at least make the entire family give praise to God that I don't sing!
What's scary is, this may be the same guy that did the video of an American Idol audition singing Madonna's Like A Virgin. He has a lot of the same vocal 'phrasing' (if you'll pardon the expression.)
But this one's over the top. Has he ever listened to a singer? Can he not hear? Has he not ears, a mind, a soul? (I'm starting to sound WAY too biblical - or is it Shakespearian? )
:D
OK, I'll shut up now...

This guy's voice is actually not that bad, he just doesn't know how to use it...
If he is really doing a whole album with this kind of music, I think I'll buy it! He's better than any comedian I've ever heard. ;)

Josh,
this was uploaded last year..Is this becoming a Christmas ritual here?
I recall the high register vocal as being a tad too high for our artist.
I think it is time for him to push the handle on this toilet.
What do you think?

Oh yeah... This WAS for real! I think that's what makes it hilarious!
This has been around for awhile. (It made the rounds around Nashville producers because it was so... umm... soulful.)
And I'll definetly upload it next Christmas season too. NS's own little family Christmas tradition. Thanks guys! Reading everyone's responses had me laughing just as much as the song did!

Yea this has been around a LONG time. Maybe it's cause I'm in Nashville but I heard it at least 3 christmas' ago (this being number 4). I can't verify it's a real submission. I really think it's just an internet quack job - however - believe it or not I CAN verify that I've heard equally bad and in a few rare cases worse. Have you ever been flipping through cable and the remote quit working when you got to TBN? Next time watch out, this guy might be following the 4" thick makeup lady!! :) LOL Merry Christmas to all anyway!

Ahh Chadwick...a touch of autotune? even with melodyne it would be impossible, BUT... maybe you are right we should be a little bit more supportive.
And what was it with the string section? :)

One question though.....WHO the hell is that singing?
LMAO .
My wife just got up and said she had a dream she was hearing some F'd up version of "Oh Holy Night" .
There is no way that can be real, but hey, he did hit the "hight note"....
Thanks for the link, first time I smiled in two days... :)

Wow, what a laugh! One of the funniest things I've ever hear -- stomach aches bad -- heard it *three* times -- wife came over to see whats wrong with me -- dog has terrible nightmares -- my, what a singer! He could become rich and famous singing like this, seriously! Congrats, absolutly awsome!

Sir, you need to manipulate/transpose most...well, okay, 100% of your audio material. Steady on, Lad. Just pitch shift the whole enchilada with Melodyne ( http://www.celemony.com/melodyne/movies/quicktimeisdn.html ) and likitty-split snap them flat notes to little blue boxes. Hey, even when the pollen count is high, a gal can sound like Maria Kalogeropoulous (if she wants to) with a 'lil pitch-shiftin'.
LOL!!! Try some gentle head and shoulder rolls. Follow with a hearty rib stretch and three-minute lip trills. Relax your jaw, will ya?

My daughter-in-law is a fairly serious amateur theatrical singer. I played this track after Christmas dinner, to get a laugh - she had to leave the room. in tears. O Holy Night is her favorite Christmas carol, and she was in real pain. :o
:D
Everyone else had tears too, of laughter...
