When you typed in the auth code - did the "authorize button" turn from greyed out to lit up?

Once I remember typing in the code and hitting the far right button (which I think was "later") instead of the Authorize button on the left!
So I had your exact problem. Still in demo mode.

Took me three trys to figure out I was inputing the right code - and just hitting the wrong button!

 If the demo mode at the bottom is greyed out and the authorise button is lit does this mean that its working?

If the Authorize button does not light up right as you finish entering the last digit of the response code - clearly its the wrong code.

I had this happen to me last night.

It was my user error - I messed up the challenge when I typed it in.

You seem to be copy and pasting which is way easier.
The only thing I can think - and its a long shot - is that when you copied and/or pasted either the challenge or the response, you may have had an extra empty space as the first digit.

I had this happen once with a different product.

The result was an incorrect challange.

I would go ahead and try the process again from the start.

Copy the challange and go to the spectrasonics site and start the auth process over - it will give you a second auth code - it may ask for the reason why but it will give it to you -.

Try it again and be super careful. I bet it works this time.

Best of luck!

No

You are still in demo mode

Its offering you a chance to authorize it.

Robbie -
I tried to reply to your email but I got a mail delivery error.
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO: 550 Administrative prohibition - unable to validate recipient

Here is a copy of that email

I think you should just start over with the auth process.
Spectrasonics is good about giving a couple installs.

First quite your sequencer.
Re launch.
Depending on the app – either the RMX window to authorize should pop up while the program is launching.

To rule out any weird computer ~~~~ – copy the challenge by hand.
Go the the spectrasonics site and authorize it as if you had never tried to do so.

It will give you a new response code – it may ask you WHY you need another response but it will give you one.

Then type it in by hand.

I am hanging around for a bit – email me if anything goes wrong along the way.

But have no worries. You will get this working.

:( Ijust tried closing down cubase Ed but no joy im still in demo mode, i tried typing the challenge code but its stuck in the box permanently it wont delete so i cant type.
When i paste or type the new reponse code it just goes back to demo mode.
Here is my procedure..

1 - Open Cubase SL3
2 - Open VST Instrument.. i.e Stylus Appears
3 - I click on the Authorize button then i get the Challenge code and Response code screen..
4 - I paste the response code into the box and click paste then continue
5 - I then get the message to close this instance of Stylus whicj i presume means just close the instrument then open it again.
6 - I open up Stylus again and i see the same Demo Mode sign greyed out..

Thats my procedure ive had 3 response codes now and im baffled mate..

If you got the correct auth code
The authorize button should have lit up.
Hit that INSTEAD of hitting continue.

Hitting continue was the mistake I made a couple times.

Try that again - let us know .

But your email thing needs some attention - might explain earlier problems.

wtf? do i do know? its not the authorisation code but the challenge code thats wrong and i cant delete it from box?

two things
the challenge code is not what you received from spectrasonics.

Just to make sure we are clear on the terms.

Challenge was the code that pops up in RMX's auth window.
This is what you copy and paste into the spectrasonics site.

The response code is what they give you back.
You copy and paste this into the auth window.

When you input the response code the "authorize" button lights up - you hit it and you are finished.

If you repeat those steps and it does not work than maybe you really do have a deeper issue.

As to "not being able to clear the challenge box" - you can't.
Only the response box is user editable.

Hope any of this helps -
I don't mean to be remedial so don't take offense. I just find that when everything is not working - taking a minute and getting clear on the terms and steps usually helps resolve things faster.

It's still early today but there is no reason not to drink heavily on bad computers days!
