Hi guys (and gals)
Since Eric's Spectrasonics site has Stylus RMX demos..."coming soon"
I was wondering if some of you kind hearted RMX users would please post some of your compositions using RMX? Even if these are incomplete pieces, I would really like to hear RMX in real world pieces!
I've watched Eric's demo video and have heard a few things but I'm just not sure this app would suite my music.
I do mostly acoustic / new age / mellow / world / blah blah blah, type stuff.
(I hate labels) You can hear my work here... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/4/tobybrezmusic.htm
In case you're wondering... this is really not a ploy to get you to listen to my music, I'd really like to know if you think Stylus RMX is right for my style of writing?
Thanks in advance and I hope some of you will share your RMX tunes!
Toby

Sorry. No comps yet, and I was unable to open your files to hear your music but ... You will probably not get much mileage out of the remix drum loops but the acoustic percussion and groove elements will serve you well. You can also always get the Backbeat Xpander ($99) for acoustic drum grooves, which can be altered in RMX to suite just about any situation.

I just finished up a mellow piece I've been working on for consideration on a relaxation spa hotel chain compilation CD...It has 3 instances of the softer RMX loops and about 3 or 4 instances of Atmosphere (among other stuff)...I've got an MP3 on hand ready to send in to them...It's about 2.38 MB...I don't mind posting it but I have no idea how...A real FTP idiot  ...I'm still waiting for an easy way point and click (and free) way out to post material for the masses :)

I have a demo using RMX, but it isn't mellow!...
http://www.rickwoodmusic.com/music.html
Click on the first mp3 link... "Energetic Guitar/Percussion/Orchestral Theme (956 Kb) "
I have other stuff, but can't post it yet. RMX is very usable in many genres if you do some tweaking... and you can do a LOT of tweaking.

I have a smooth jazz / groove kind of tune on SoundClick: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/9/pleasureavenuemusic.htm
Select the first tune "Rent Is Due"
This gives an idea of what you can do easily, but there sure is lot more features that are available. The nice thing about doing this was that it was very quick and easy to get this in place.

Hey ed_mcg,
Very nice... now that's what I'm takin' bout!
You set down a very nice groove without it sounding like a loop.
I liked the tambourine, bongos and side stick snare.
That is what I was looking for... somehthing that showed RMX with acoustic instruments. I think it's time to get out the credit card!
Just curious... are the main steel string chords... samples?
Nice tune... I enjoyed it.
Thanks again for sharing,
Toby

Cool Moonmusic,
Yeah, a lot of folks use Soundclick. I've read where others have had issues connecting once in a while but I've never experienced any problems.
I'm anxious to hear your music.
Thanks,

I used a real acoustic, usual doubled left and right, also a
real bass and electric (strat) guitar. The keys are FM7.
I like to use real instruments and I think RMX supports them well.

Hey Ted,
Very, very nice indeed! You've captured a really nice mood with this piece.
Really like the sound of the nylon string guitar! If you don't mind me asking... what is it and recoring path?
RMX sounds very cool, just the right percussion for this piece.
Did you add the ambience (reverb) to the loop or is it part of the RMX loop?
Thanks for sharing,
Toby

Thanks for the compliment! The nylon guitar is a sample that comes in the Native Instruments Kontakt library...You can choose w/or without reverb...I used the one with...The recording path is out (VST-PC) via Tascam 122 to Mackie 1202 VLZ out balanced outputs to Apogee Rosetta out digitally via lightpipe 24bit 48khz to Digidesign 002 to (Protools PC)..Everything mixed in box from there...I didn't add anything to the RMX loops...What you hear is 3 seperate factory loops mix and matched throughout the piece...You simply drag and drop....Too easy huh?...I absolutely love the movement in these RMX loops throughout the stereo field and just about all of the loops in the library does this....I know I personally am thankful I stumbled across this program when I did....Thanks again....Moon
