Hello !!!!


Can a sampler program this harmonics samples up ? (for sampled piano)
Gigastudio 3 ?
Kontakt 2 ?

here are the harmonics rules pedal up : (what i found on my real Grand Piano !)


if key A(n) is down and key A(n+x) down -> A(n+(((n+x)-(n))-1) harmonics string resonance sample
if key A(n) is down and key E(n+x) down -> E(n+(((n+x)-(n))-1) harmonics string resonance sample

if key G(n) is down and key G(n+x) down -> G(n+(((n+x)-(n))-1) harmonics string resonance sample
if key G(n) is down and key D(n+x) down -> D(n+(((n+x)-(n))-1) harmonics string resonance sample

if key F(n) is down and key F(n+x) down -> F(n+(((n+x)-(n))-1) harmonics string resonance sample

first,
in your rules :
(n+(((n+x)-(n))-1) = n + x -1 right ?
..or I missed something :cool:

anyway,
basically the harmonic effect with pedal up is just like the sympathetic resonance effect of the pedal down but only with the key who are held..

so, we can probably make a more global rule for any key :
with pedal up, when you hit a key A, if there is a held bass note B, the harmonies of A will resonate on the free string B if A iz close enough from B in the overtone series. The more it will be close from B in the overtone series (octave, fifth , 15th, third.... etc), the more the sympatic resonance on B will be rich..
is that ok ?

can't we make this kind of rule in GS3 with the midi rules thing :confused:

As Knar says, your rules each reduce to A(x-1) -- give an octave below the A(x) key? Far too simple, unless something is lost in your notation.

What I'd like to see is what happens with a real piano: put the pedal down and shout into it, and a full mixture of sound resonates.
