According to ChickenSys Giga to Kontakt conversion is very accurate:

It's only available for PC though...

Thanks Herman,
Forgot to ask if you actually play these instruments or you just recorded / programmed them.

I played the Bombarde, the Percussion FX, and the overblow update for the Tarka myself. The Bombarde took me a few days of practise, before I recorded it.

Thanks a lot Herman for the offer of these super samples. What other instruments are you using on this interesting little piece? I particularly like the plucked or struck instrument used in the intro.....is it just a guitar....it's very percussive...but very nice!:)
When I get around to it I shall be visiting your site to download....and of course will be making a donation (Hey it's the least we can do!):)

It's called a Bouzouki. It originates from Greece, and found its way into western-european folk music. It's on Ethno World 2. I'm also using the R.A.W. Percussion, Tin Whistle and just 1 Tarka overblown effect in it. The other two are Egyptian violin and Mongolian cello (from EW2).
Feel free to post your feedback once you've tried the sounds.

Thanks Herman. I know the bouzouki well enough but, obviously, not enough to recognise it.:) I was wondering if it was a zither/ dulcimer. Thanks for letting me know the source.
Cheers

A dulcimer is on the sampling list. A friend of mine owns one, and he lets me borrow it.

Herman, you are one busy, productive guy!
Thanks!
(you took the Celtic band into the 21st century in the ending of your demo ;) )

I expect it to be finished soon. I'm beta-testing a commercial sample library right now, so that takes some of my time as well. I'll keep you guys posted on the Indian Whistle

R.A.W. Bombarde update
----------------------------
There's now a Kontakt version available for the R.A.W.Bombarde, programmed by Paul Waring. The wave files can be extracted from the gigastudio file. See the "readme" file for details.

Hi Herman,
Again thanks for your great job. I haven't used your samples libraries for now, but I think I will...Special "price" for the bombarde, very realistic and well playabled (I'm living in a medieval town and often hearing this kind of instrument...)

I just blew my lungs out playing that bombarde. ;-)
Living in a medieval town? Sounds cool.
If there are any instrument builders there, let me know.
