From EWQL's web site:
YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED WHEN YOU HIT ACCEPT ON THE SITE.
Shouldn't your credit card only be charged when the product is shipped? Aren't some of these products still over a month away?
Just an observation,

It's up to each distributor to decide this. At this time they are only available at the provided links.

I think your best bet is to wait until Feb.27 or Mar.30 and order on the last day the pre-order price is available.

I thought VOTA owners were getting some kind of a discount.
In addition to this?

Hmm. Nice discount, on a fairly high price. Not a price that's anything close to unfair, mind you, if this thing performs consistently as well as it does in Nick's NAMM video.
Nonetheless... i can't help wondering whether there will be a less pricey close/ambient mix-miked 16 bit version a la EWQLSO Gold in the future.

Are the pre-orders available until the release date or is there a separate deadline? Pre-order prices from the European stores would be great. declaring only the price of the package and shipping (which is legal for samples) would be even better.

There are no plans to do this in the near future, but we never say never because we're in a changing market.

Read the bottom line of the first post - they expire upon release of each product. RA and COLOSSUS are scheduled for the end of this month, EWQLSC the end of the following month.
Some countries allow lower declared value (Netherlands for example) most don't.
is opening in Europe very shortly (hopefully before these are released). We will only carry EW products and a small number of other high-end products there initially, but you will only have to pay VAT in future, no other import costs.

It seems that I was too anxious and jumped straight to the links, silly me. :p This is great, with some luck I might get myself a choir.
Some countries allow lower declared value (Netherlands for example) most don't.It should be ok in many countries when the actual product isn't shipped but just the material. The actual product is the licence as in online transferring of software.

Even fantastic as VAT is deductable for professionals in transactions between EU countries.

So let me get this straight: owners of Rare Instruments (which is included in its totality in RA) have to buy RA before February 28th (19 days from now) to get any sort of discount?!
Come on guys!
I can understand why it might be reasonable for the other 2 libraries but for RA, I do not think it is such a generous offer. I understand there are a lot of new instruments in RA but RI owners paid $500 for that library and to have to rush in order to take advantage of the discount is ...well, not very friendly.
Hi,
I don't currently own RI but I have to agree with Patrick here as well. I know that the presence of an added discount is an incentive to get people to buy early so maybe you can decrease the amount of the discount after RA's release (instead of 30%, make it 10-20%).
Just my 2 bits,

So if I own EWQLSO and VOTA, I get 60% discount for EWQLSC? ... http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif
I'm only kidding, but please say yes!

Patrick,
There will be a 10% discount for RI owners after release. RI is approx. 10% of RA, so that is the appropriate discount. 30% is very generous (and more of a thank you for previous EW/QL supporters) considering the amount of relative content.

I could be mistaken, but don't the special sales (which actually come around fairly regularly) usually exclude these higher-end libraries?
Lee Blaske
You are correct Lee, none of these releases will be included in any sale for a considerable period of time. This is the time to save some money if you have a qualifying product.

Well, a couple of weeks won't be enough for me to save what is needed for RA & EWQLSC, especially since all I could spare went into EWQLSO pro already :(
Who knows, maybe the phone's gonna ring ! ;)

EWQLSC won't be released until March 31, RA and COLOSSUS February 28.
Everything is on schedule so far.

COLOSSUS looks interesting, in fact, its just what I've been looking for. But I'm so sick of spending money with all the group buys and other stuff I've been buying...good thing I'm working a lot of overtime...One of these days I'll get my credit cards paid off, but it won't be next month.

Am I the only fool who thinks these guys should get all the money they deserve for their hard work? Have we forgotten the '90s already.
I paid $500 bucks for Symphony of Voices and the most it says is ooh and ah. Miroslav used to cost $3,000. And, to get all that RA has to offer was out of reach of most human beings; and not to mention how many synths you'd have to buy at $2,000 a pop just to get a fraction of what Colossus has to offer.
People any way you slice it these libraries are GREAT deals. I just don't understand all the upset over who and what gets what discount.
My daddy told me when I was growing up that if you want something work for it and save your money.
These products aren't ridiculously priced like synths and other sample library's use to be. Let's just be thankful that these developers are actually developing products that ARE affordable and are GREAT!!!
Offering of ANY discount is just further proof that these guys are on the level and want everybody to be able to afford these.
Maybe I'll be hated by the music community at large, but as I understand it the profit margin is relatively small making sample library development a risky business. Let's look at the larger picture here and relize that if we haggle these guys down any further, then maybe there won't be ANYBODY interested in making new sample libraries. How horrible will that be! As it stands there's only a handful of companies right now.
Thanks for all your hard work and fair pricing Nick and Doug. Keep it up. I'll be saving a little from each job to get all of the new products. The only thing I don't want to see is a group buy 1 week after I buy them at full price. Please wait at least a year for that.
Cheers,
Jose

Not by me. I agree with you.

yeah tough.....
I guess I should have waited to buy this new choir instead of forking out $500 for VOTA last year. VOTA is a very nice product but it seemed like a little bit of a fib to claim it could sing words. Seeing as I was new to music software a year ago when I purchased vota I was easily led to believe this was true.

There is always a "better" product round the corner, but if you need something now, then you need it now... This, I suspect, is exactly how it will always be.

Where can we hear a demo?
Pre-order offers are enticing, but I don't see a demo area.
