slow shutdown after GS

Would someone tell me why my computer takes a a long time to shut down at the end of a Gigastudio session? My computer typically takes 3 minutes to shut down. GS is the only application that seems to do this.

I use W2k on a Pentium 4, 1.4 gHz, 1 gig of ram, 3 Seagate hard drives, a Gina24 sound card, GS 160 and Cakewalk Home Studio as a sequencer.

Is there a fix for this?
