Hey guys, I'm gonna make a switch to Cubase SX3 - Where could I get it at the lowest prices?
Thanks in advance.

If you have a student ID: http://www.academicsuperstore.com
If you don't, call Arnie at MTLC http://www.houseofsamples.com
COngrats on making the switch - SX3 rocks!
Try to crossgrade. It's still listed at JRR Shop (the best place to buy UAD-1, BTW) for $299:

And let's not forget www.froogle.com!
If it's for sale online, they usually know where to find it.

Go with Arnie at House of Samples - I faxed my student ID to get a discount on SX some time back. Their prices are pretty hard to beat from the research I've done.
GS3 required extra effort via phone through Tascam for the discount, so it depends on the product.
Even without student ID the prices there are still awsome all around, plus you talk to NICE people, which makes the difference for me no matter what.

Hey Alan or Aaron or anybody,
I'm at SX1.x and just now upgrading to SX2.0 which I bought seven months ago but haven't had time to install. Where there any issues with SX 2.0 if I apply the updates etc.? Seems like people are anxious to get off 2.o.

Joanne - I only recently upgraded to SX 3 though it has been out for some time - I was very happy (and stable) with SX 2. I decided on the upgrade for one important feature to me... which was the "edit in place" feature. I record alot of real performances along side my midi and most of the time my midi can't be quantized because the original performance wasn't. SO this feature helps tons.
If you can live without the newer features (complete list at www.steinberg.net (http://www.steinberg.net)) then staying with SX 2 would be fine. :)

Joanne,
1. Finish your current project firstly.
2. Ghost (backup) your system partition.
3. Update Syncrosoft License Center software
http://forum.cubase.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=3252
4. Apply new license to the dongle.
5. During the installation choose new folder (Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase SX 2) - in that case you could still use your original SX for older projects.
6. After the installation apply latest fixes (in order to bring SX2 to the latest and greatest 2.2.0.39 you firstly have to install both 2.2.0.33 maintenance update and 2.2.0.35 hotfix).
If any questions, look at Cubase Info Base:

Also feel free to ask at Cubase.net forum.
SX rocks!

How about SX2? I can't seem to find a place selling it - they're all selling SX3 now.
