View Full Version : Okay, **** Gigastudio, what else is compatible with Sonar 2.2?

Hey good people:

Hassles, hassles, hassles with Gigastudio. First blue-screening, then disappearing drives, now MSG32.exe errors when I try to load samples. The drivers seem for ****, from what I can tell. After WEEKS of dealing with non-stop hassles and no response to DIRECT PHONECALLS (at no small expense, considering I\'m in Tokyo) to Tascam, I\'m tossing this program in the trash.

That said, what\'s a good, STABLE alternative? I have Reason 2.5, SampleTank XL VSTi v1.13 or Halion 2.0 available to me. Which should I choose for sound quality, stabilty and seamless integration with Sonar?

Responses would be most sincerely appreciated:

Just curious, which OS, audio card, and mobo?

Uninstall, delete all Nemesys keys in registry, then reinstall.

Upgrade to 2.53 or 2.54

Use a good sound card. No sound blaster. Use good name-brand motherboards, like ASUS, AOPEN... not cheap Compaq, IBM, DELL mobos.

I recently had trouble w/ Giga as well.
So I uninstalled, cleaned the registry, etc. as has been suggested, but then I also had to do a \"repair\" reinstall of XP and download a fresh version of Giga (using my CD key) to get it all to work again.

Crossing my fingers everytime I fire it up now.
But... so far so good.
