MIDI interface hardware - any advice?

I am about to buy a dedicated MIDI interface card and would appreciate some reassurance as to whether there are any models to target/avoid for Gigasampler compatibility reasons.

I\'m looking at the new Roland MPU-64 (a dedicated USB MIDI interface) or various MOTU products.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
