StudioB: The Collection
Produced by Alan Lastufka of Bela D Media
Studio B consist of an acoustic bass guitar, an electric guitar (a custom version of the PRS Project6 guitar) and three seperate drum kits; two played with sticks and one played with hot-rod brushes.
Combined you have the fundamental backing tracks for many pop/rock/blues and jazz tracks. All three are unique instruments.
The acoustic bass guitar is something rarely sampled, and we have sampled seperate index finger and middle finger variations for every articulation, including sustains, marcatos, pops, slaps and more... (not to mention a very fun effects and slides toolbox)
The guitar is simple but powerful. It is not distorted to the point of being crunchy, but its amped, not direct in - making it perfect for backing tracks or focused leads.
Last are the drums; recorded and programmed in the true multitrack technique used by all professional recording studios. You get eight mic positions with full bleed in every mic. One snare crack and its felt through all the mics, which can be assigned to seperate outputs from Kontakt, allowing for individual gating, EQing and reverbing of each mic. You don't get this authentically in any other drum library we are aware of in the Kontakt format.
This all results in the most authentic multisampled blues/rock package you could ask for - and you won't believe the price!!

Yeah I know what you mean...I've only had a VSTPC a few months and already got GS3,Monzter Guitars,RMX,Atmosphere,Korg Collection,Komplete 2 and care package 2005,Vintaudio group buy, various Sonic Implant downloads,Backbeat,etc....Now I just found out yesterday NI released a Komplete Sound package which I HAVE to have at the price they are offering, already started saving for Melodyne Cre8 and of course all those $99 Xpanders are a MUST!...I just read in Recording magazine that the software section was the most congested and hyped area of NAMM and I believe it! I can safely say that with all this new stuff I've been using has been the inspiration I've been looking for...Just can't eat now!

Just can't eat now!Eating is a bad habit for a sample junkie. Just get rid of it. :D

I can only assume that you have a price point in mind for StudioB. If you do the math and compare; the drums alone are normally sold in the $199.99 - $249.99 market, if not more. Add the bass, with intense multi-samples and yet another Project6 PRS sampled guitar… toss it all on a DVD.
How much are you thinking?

What ugly situation is that?

What ugly situation is that?I'm not suggesting anything but I thought that FredProgGH was suggesting something. ;)
But seriously speaking, can you share the price with us? As with $600 you can get DFHS, the Project 6 and still have $150 for the bass, I bet you'll go a tad lower than that.

The lib is going to be nice. I don't know anything about the situation. :D
Personally, I''m lusting for the bass, not to mention the rest. I was drooling for that bass when Alan had his LastLibs verson of it.

janila, you're so far out in left field its rediculous. No way its going for that.Ehm...what are we talking about? If I remember correctly the Lastlibs bass retailed for around $150 (I might be wrong here), the DFHS is at $300 and the Project 6 goes for $149 so the $600 was a somewhat educated guess.

Well, I really shouldn't share this very private meeting about price points with you, but if you want to know what we are thinking...

http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32250I didn't mean drawing the whole thing but the texts and layout. That link certainly explains something. Maybe I should visit the OT section more often...

Jan,
After the characters were created - the layout and text took only about 90 seconds in Fireworks - my graphics program of choice.
As much as I love developing libs for Bela D Media - my schooling and passion is art. :) Just ask JB. ;)

For the love of God, don't- I got dragged into it and my will to live almost got destroyed :D
I have noticed there are some real quick draws with the graphics around here- no pun intended. Gary G. can post stuff so fast your head will spin.

Frank...
I listened to the demo a bit ago. Aside from the fact that the music really isn't my cup 'o java, I loved it. The drums sound excellent and I am dying to get my hands on them. I'm still using the freebie NSKit 7 (and not that there's anything wrong with it), but I'm sooooooo ready to have a really really good drum kit.
Get it in the damned box and start shipping it already!

Thank you very much for the comments on the demo everyone ! You made my day .
I just wanted to clarify that the library not only was in Beta, but also, beeing the first i used with Kontakt, i couldn't get the most out of the many Multiple mics or the Bass because of my ignorance .
So , please don't regard this demo as the best quality Studio B can produce ( Actually not even near in my hands ) . In the hands of a Pro , Studio B can do amazing stuff .
Also , the demo had no individual Compressors, Exciters or other FX on any channels/mics -> I used the library Raw and out of the box .
Just a technical side note from "behind the scenes" :)
Thanks
Theodor

By the way ,
The MP3 name should be Krueger , not Kreuger ( ALAN ! :D )
If Uncle Freddy sees this he will be very upset :)
One... two.. Freddy's coming for you
Three... four... better lock your door
Five... six... take your crusifix
Seven.... eight... better stay out late
Nine.... ten... never sleep again ( or something )

All I gotta say is thank god for companies like Bela D, Garritan, etc., who are coming at us with these GREAT libraries for low prices. The tide is turning and it's about damn time...
