The details (http://news.harmony-central.com/Newp/2005/Kontakt-2-Library.html) of the library included with Kontakt 2 is now available. Not bad. :) It has atleast a couple of instruments that I would have had to buy otherwise (assuming that the K2 versions are usable) and the KSP and convolution stuff seem promising.

I think it's an amazing deal!! 15 gigs plus the upgrade to Kontakt2 I mean it's the deal of the century honestly! The upgrade will be cheaper then 200 dollars even with 15 gigs of content not to mention 300 reverbs (passes out)
NI has out done themselves I am glad I have stuck around for the incredible ride :D

If the VSL mini-library included with this is any indication, it appears that they will be able to utilize the KSP engine to do what they were previously using the performance tool to do.

I'm really glad I bought Kontakt back last year. Now I can get the upgrade for less than $200!!!

Not that I can afford it but the thought is nice.
I'm really glad I bought Kontakt back last year. Now I can get the upgrade for less than $200!!!
:DThe Komplete Care is starting to look like a great deal. I hope that they come up with something more even if I'm liking the Absynth3 a lot and propably the Kontakt 2 will be a dream come true.

Yes , I`m think of that now.
I need to also think about the shipping fee and the Tax`s that my
country charges us when we buy something from a foreign country.
Looks like the upgrade fee is $169 , so I`m guessing the tax`s that
FedEx is going to charge me is about $16 to $17 ,
because they always charge me about 10%.
And also , I need to add the shipping fee to that .
If it doesn`t reach $215, I`ll be thinking of ordering it
directly from NI, even though I bought Kontakt 1 from
my local dealer(distributor) .

Just pre-ordered K2 from my local Long and McQuade. IT will run me $179 Canadian plus taxes. Sweet. :D

Really nice price:) I can`t believe how much my distributor charges.
I know they`re making a manual thats in my language ,
but I don`t believe the manual costs about $40...
Wish I lived in the US or Europe.
Has anyone heard if there's an upgrade from Kompakt Instrument (EWQLSO Gold, for example) to K2? The upgrade from Instrument to Kontakt (1) is $249.

Yeah I thought that was low too since NI is charging $169 US...Although the Canadian dollar is doing much better these days so most Canadian music retail stores have adjusted their prices accordingly. This is one time I'm glad the U.S. economy is in the tank.

Dealing with the NI shop is more expensive than a local dealer. I use Pongetti Musical Instruments in Hamilton.

Yes. However, for those in California, auidomidi.com charges tax to California and Sweetwater doesn't. Both places have free shipping on this. (I did just order it. The new version inports EMU and the upgrade is close to the same price as buying a special program to import these.)

Just an FYI for folks who have a Kontakt PLAYER and want to upgrade to FULL Kontakt 2 (with all that content): Upgrade from Player 1.5x to FULL 1.5x can only be done (according to NI) through their website. The price is $249. THEN, you are qualified to upgrade through the "close window" option at a price of $119 to Kontakt 2, receiving all the content. (The net is that for $368 you end up with a full-functioning softSampler and a heck of a lot of content!)
According to Customer Service at NI, the "close window" upgrade can be purchased either through NI directly or through the usual distributors (thought there likely won't be much of a discount on $119).
LATE WORD: The FULL Kontakt 2 (with all that content) is now available directly from Native Instruments for $339. (I had previously asked about updating from Kontakt player 1.5x and been quoted $249 to get to Kontakt 1.5x FULL and an additional $119 to update that to Kontakt 2. Now, NI is shipping Kontakt 2 Upgrades at a combined price first quoted above -- or a "savings" of $29!)
They are taking orders online and shipping from the Fulfillment Centre (in Gilroy, California) by UPS ground ($4.95) or Air ($15).
All that content and full Kontakt 2! My plastic is gonna get a workout!
