About midi controllers and GS

When you buy a dedicated midi controller for GS, do you have to program all the parameters you wish to use with the midi controller yourself, or are there preprogrammed profiles available for GS?

You need to program them yourself. The help files with each instrument will describ which controllers are needed. These can all be accessed with your sequencer faders or event lists also. The hardware is handy for quick access and experimentation. Even with hardware faders, you may want to put the settings in your sequences to recall them.
