When I try to start up GS for the first time during the \"Profiling Hard Drives for GS files\" and after the \"Analyze Machine\" is checked I get an error message:

GS caused an invalid page fault in
module MFC42.DLL at 0157:5f403efc....

Pentium II 400 MMX, Win 95 OSR2
128MB Ram, 9GB drive
Promise Technology Inc. Ultra 66 IDE Controller
Adaptec AHA-2940U/AHA-2940UW PCI SCSI Controller
Echo Layla 5.2 Driver
Creative AWE64 Gold
SiS 6362 Display Adapter
ALN-201 PCI Ethernet Adapter
Cakewalk 9.0, CD Architect 4.0

Anybody had this happen? I have tried everything I can think of. Everything is in good shape, this shouldn\'t have happened.

Did you uncheck \"Direct sound\" on Gina\'s property page ? Layla/Gina/Darla users must go into this driver\'s property page and disable the DirectSound feature. If this is not done, then starting GigaSampler will cause a GPF. The drivers default to having DirectSound enabled - so this needs to be addressed when installing the Event/Echo upgrade.

I hope it helps

Thank You Jaz! I knew it wasn\'t much \'cause I thought I had all my bases covered. It would be nice if this little but very frustrating detail was printed somewhere, like in the release notes...\"If you have this, then...\" All the best in the new year!
