Hi all,

this has been about a year that I haven't posted anything. So, to do anything against this, here is an epic composition with huge choir in the fantasy style :

Feedback very welcome,
Markus.

Very good. It would have been nice to take it to another harmonic realm at the end. And on my speakers the verb sounds a little muddy in the mid range making the orchestra parts seem a little samplish. But the composing is very good.

Cheers,

Jose

Very nice job Markus.

The choir work is excellent. Did you mean to have the choir sing specific lyrics or is it nonsense that sounds good?

Thank you very much everybody for your nice and generous comments!

@Jamie : the snare is the free snare from Project SAM. I also use their stomps, various percussions -- the killer anvils are from Tob.

@Jose : I am not sure if the "middish" (meaning the mid are very present) sound is due to the reverb, which is very clean (gigapulse). I think it is rather due to the type of composition with a very dense and massive harmony. There are sureley ways to still improve the sound -- still have to figure out how...:)

@Patrick : is all "imagined" language (couldn't decide between french and german I guess...:) )

Markus.

Hi,

thanks guys for taking a listen and giving your feedback.

@rjt : what a cool signature! hehe, "never wrestle with a pig..."

@-ed : the main melody is sung by the choir (a c b a e e d e). It is this simple Carl Orff type of melody. I agree that some trumpets (i ex to make the rythmical parts more energic) would have been great, but I think the sampled trumpets that's not it for the moment. I always get some kind of sythy feel when I use them.

I have worked on it a little more. The newer one (_04) has the staccato strings more upfront and a more agressive orchestral sound (more percussions i ex), the choir is more behind.

Here the older one :

I'd be curious to hear some opinions on which version you would prefere (or if you think there is not much difference).

Thanks,
Markus.
