Has anyone ever come across a DVD reading issue where the DVD will read on Windows and a Mac in the states but the same DVD will ONLY read in Windows but not on a Mac in Japan?

Did I just make absolutely no sense here? LOL

Hey I Import all the time from japan(anime/movies/games) Japan Dvd codes are the same as other asian countries and use different encoding on the DVD. and What you said up above there 'er yea LOL :D

so a japanese dvd runs in Windows in Japan but not on a Mac(Japan is all macs!)

you'll need to get the region code translator to run that dvd on a non Japanese dvd player. There are software programs that can do it and Nonregional Dvd players. j-list sells a good one , and there are other places.

I have no idea if I helped here :p

I think Lyrical Distortion was on a DVD Disc,
and it worked just fine with my Mac. The DVD-RW Drive I used
is from, Pioneer and it was built-in when I bought this Mac.
( If your talking about DVD that has data in it,I mean.
And not a DVD-Video.)

Right. What cat was saying is more about video I think. This issue was just simple DATA. Strange. It should work.
