Haha LOL

So I just pulled up 3 older sting movements I did for Garritan way back (All custom GOS patches). Now, I am no composer and I will be the first to admit that. However, I wonder what you REAL composer would think of it. Let me know. This should be one funny ~~~ thread.

PS. If you could not already guess this, I am trying to mock my favorite film composer and his work on the film Gettysburg. Randy Edelman

Oh and... tracks 1 and 2 showcase the Bela D legato flute. I still love my little freebie flute ;)

hi Francis,

I like the mp3s.... but....

To me they sounds to much cut... hmm what do I mean? (good question)
I mean that the change of notes is not glued enough for me....

just two cents.... ( If You understand what i have on my mind ;) )

Lack of legato is what you mean - I think. Yeah, I was not using the GOS legato feature that time around. My bad.

This is good stuff. I think that you can call yourself a composer. I want to hear more. Maybe one of the pieces, a little longer?

Peace

Rik

That's where I get into trouble. I stumble around the 60 second mark and run out of ideals or ways to expanded the movement ;)

Yeah, like Beethoven's 5th symphony :)

Yeah - from many listeners' viewpoints it is often the composer's mistake to go on developing ad infinitum without repeating the part that is the hook.

Shame on me. I like the Beatles. :-)

I don't think it's any better or worse than the mock ups some of the top film composers hand their orchestrators.

I'd say keep going for it.

Thanks ;) The tracks are not mockups though. They are my own. Just mocking the guy.

Yeah I know. When I say mock-up I mean it in the old school sense of a midi-mock up that a composer would hand to an orchestrator to "adapt" to be performed by a real orchestra.

Cheers,

Jose
