I think the entire music community is still reeling so much from the horrid steel-drums-on-everything assault of the mid-80's through early 90's that no one dares risking it happening again...

I am hired to do an "island style" song and the only instrument specifically requested is steel drum.

If anyone knows any samples that would be great or if someone can steer me to a player in the Boston area that would be great also.

VRSound also has a pretty good set. You can buy just the steel drum, if you like.

That VRSound steel drum sounds great.

Unfortunately I thought I could buy it then download from the internet.

This project is pretty darn time sensitive so I may have to come up with another option.

Sure does sound good though.

I had the same problem. If you have your text size to Largest, make it smaller for that site and the rest of the links will appear. Magic :)

The site confused me a bit.

It is great to get the free steel drum but I think the VR Sound one appears better from their demo.

I just fiddled with the free one in the song. I might use this one to show where I am going with the song and then replace it with the VR Steel Drum when it comes in.
