View Full Version : How do I get 64 midi channels with Luna II

I\'ve recently returned to the world of midi and I was wondering whether I need 4 midi ports into a PC to be able to get 64 channels of midi... or have things \'changed\' since my original days of 16 channels and Atari ST.
I am going to get the luna ii card... I notice that it has a \'midi\' port, although I suspect that is simply 16 channels, right? I therefore need 3 other ports into the machine.
I imagine this is a simple \"c\'mon\" question, but any quick slap in the face answers would be most welcome...
Thanks.
Richard

Hi

Unfortunately, 16 channels per MIDI port is part of the official spec and will not change any time soon.

I can recommend the EGOsys 4 port MIDI interface. I have also used the MIDIman Midisport 2 USB interface, but many people have timing problems with USB - your choice.

Ironic that your name is partyhard, since I own the www.partyhard.co.uk (\"http://www.partyhard.co.uk\") domain name!
Thanks for the advice.
