View Full Version : Process of running 2 PC's together with Giga & sequencing software.
I\'m curious as to what the setup is to get a PC running with Giga to \"sync\" with another PC running sequencing software. Is it just a question of a midi cable running to the Giga PC from the sequencer PC, and appropriate audio connections from the Giga PC\'s audio card to the sequencer PC\'s audio card inputs?
Enlighten me please.
DanS, unless you\'re using digital audio connections, you don\'t need to worry about sync of any kind. Until I got my Frontier Design Dakota card (which is digital so requires sample accurate sync) I was using SEK\'D Sienna cards which are analog. The connections were as follows:
G4 (sequencer) to Giga: MIDI cables
Giga to mixer: analog RCA cables
That\'s it. No sync.

Thanks Gav, I had thought it was a little more complicated. I guess you just have to look at the other PC like another synth.
Exactly

I run 4 ports outa my Unitor 8 for my logic system to midi 1-4 on my midisport 8x8 giga system.
Enable the port in logic, and you\'re playing the best samples in the world..
I output audio from a 2408 adat out to my digi console...
Just beautiful..
And really reliable.
