There's something with these strings' "ADSR" that makes them unsuitable for fluently playing this adagio. Remember, flautando is playing super quiet, don't mix them too loud.

Yeah.. I dunno what "ADSR" means, but I understand what you're getting at. I actually abandoned this piece in flautando and redid it with strings playing normally..sounds a lot better.

Consider this thread abandoned...

ADSR = Attack Decay Sustain Release

PS.

I actually like the piece as is, while true that flautando is supposed to be really soft, your usage creates a new effect which is almost synthetic sounding and I think could be used to great effect for some stuff.

I thought it sounded good except the attack on the strings needs to be tweaked. Try increasing the attack time (hence the other guys ADSR reference), that should fix this right up.
