Just the Drums

I have a question, although I fear I already know the answer. I truly enjoy the GPO. The only thing that's missing are the drum sounds that are going to come with the Big Band and Jazz edition. So, my question: I don't really need all the instrument sounds that will come with the new editionm, so is there a way I could purchase just the drum sounds?

It would not be possible to segment out just the drums and then encode them into the Personal Orchestra Player. There are some very good dedicated drum libraries on the market you could try. Perhaps in the future we can offer a combined collection.

There is a great and FREE drum sample collection at http://www.naturalstudio.co.uk/ns_kit7freedownload.html

I couldn't figure if it was possible to get these samples to work with the Kontakt player which comes with GPO, so I downloaded a program called Drumsite (http://www.guitar.sk/drums/drums_main.htm) and replaced its own samples (which are not especially good) with the ones from naturalstudio.

The Drumsite download is only a trial version, but it seems to have quite a few features. I've got a friend who's been using it for months now, and he's made some pretty impressive stuff with it.

Unfortunately, actually writing a percussion part in Drumsite is... frustrating, to say the least, so it's usually easier to write your part in a sequencer and then import the midi to DS.

Alternatively, if you have a soundcard which will allow you to replace soundfonts (I think most do, but I'm not very knowledgable about that) naturalstudio also has a soundfont file available for download.

Thanks for the reply, Gary. Ever since my youth I've always loved the sound of a rock orchestra. I was just wanting to emulate that sound with GPO.
