What are your dreams?

What is it that you expect from yourself with all of this? What are the pros and cons of pursuing your dreams? How do you handle the obstacles, negatives, barriers, and the normal everyday expectations placed upon you? What are the single most obstacles you feel is or may keep you from realizing your dreams? Do you support your dream(s) with a strong desire or a weak one? It is said a small fire gives off little heat. How much fuel do you place on your fire?
How realistic is your dream? And finally, how would you handle it if it never happened?
I believe all of you have a reason and path to realize your dream(s). It is my wish that each and every one of you at least experience some great part of it sooner or later if not all of it for the rest of your lives!

I suppose I would like to have 20,000 people (from among the 6+ billion people on the planet) who like my particular style and sound enough to buy a CD (or download it) for $10 from me every time I create a new collection of songs.

But as I move along in my musical life, I realize that the main thing is to write music that delights me, and makes me feel proud that I created it.

My dream is to become a SUCCESSFUL symphonic composer for film or computer games. I've not been feeding that fire enough... too distracted playing the games I want to write music *for*!

After 20 years of computer gaming, it's time to pull the plug. Sell the PC and every game I own, and get a Mac. ;) ADD FUEL! Get composing!!

Impressed by the likes of John Carpenter, Clint Eastwood, Robert Rodriguez, Jack Johnson...

All motion picture directors... Who create their own music for their films.

Its my a goal to write and direct a 10 minute short, worthy for film festival submission within the next few years. (preferably on location in Maui... Hey, you said dream right???)


The more realistic goal?

Master my studio system.
Finish a collection of short music cues to be used in TV broadcasts.
Finish a collection of pops songs.

Spend a little time in Southern France and Florence. (Still dreaming)

I'm right now trying to major in piano... though also trying to major in chemistry... since you may not know what path music can take you... But hopefully, I could be a pianist as a career... I've actually indulged myself a bit too much learning such a difficult repertoire...

I'd also like to be a composer actually... I find it rather fun to compose=P

My dream: to actually make a LIVING writing CLASSICAL style music (symphonies, concertos, quartets, operas), and, of course, playing organ at a church because it's just TOO DARN FUN!!! :D :D

I've got the organ part down...but I'll just have to compose on my own time. Oh yeah, and I would like to be able to hear my compositions played back to me sounding SOOOOO realistic that not even a pro conductor could tell it's samples/synthesis, but I think Gary's got that covered with GPOA and with technology getting gooder and gooder.
