This must be a redundant topic, for which I apologize.
Any opinions or references to pertinent threads would be appreciated.
Happy, safe, free, and healthy New Year to all.

I planned to switch to the windows XP version as soon as possible, but when I read all the comments about bugs in the new XP compatible version of Gigastudio, things not working properly, I decided to stick with Windows 98SE for the time being, until most of the bugs are ironed out.
Also, if you are planning to connect to internet on the same machine, and you want to switch to Windows XP, it might be wise to opt for XP professional. I have read in an article that the home edition of XP is not really safe since it treats everybody as administrators.
So, my advice would be to stick to Windows 98SE, and wait some time before switching to XP.
...And the best wishes for the new year to you too.

My hardware works great with Windows 2000 + Gigastudio 2.50.46(still beta)
If you can\'t switch to windows 2000, be very careful in using XP, I would rather go back to 98SE but consider that it\'s not like 2000.

thanks for the help guys, I\'ll plan on staying away from XP for a while.
I\'ve got WME on the machine now, I don\'t know if that\'s preferrable to W98SE or not, I\'ve seen mixed opinions here.

Hi Michael, I use both 98 and ME regularly and have found them about the same for Giga - about equal in both success and problems.

I\'m using WinME/98lite and NO serious problems. Have look at www.98lite.com (\"http://www.98lite.com\")
Before I\'ve tried Win98SE was also performing well. I purchased my WinME full version right after released. There was lagging of softw. support, but so far is getting better now.
