Latency

I'm sure theres something simple I am doing wrong but I can't figure it out. In cubasis when I load an instrument there is at least a second of latency from when I press the key to when the instrument sounds. Also, I can't get the keyboard to work when I open the GPO standalone program.

check options on Stand Alone, make sure location of libraries is correct. Check file, settings, and verify that all choices are according to your needs/preferences. Verify that the sound card drivers are the latest. Check all audio settings in Cubasis. I don't remember what they are. If that does not help, post more infomation, as somebody may have experience with your sound card, your operating system, etc. These are just basic first aid procedures, which might be sufficient, might not.

What driver mode are you using your soundcard in? Stay away from MME-32, if you're running on WDM/KS mode then you should be capableto adjust the latency settings. If that's the case set the latency settings as low as possible. If you're running in ASIO, then it might be a driver issue
Also, look at the PC optimization guidelines for audio applications such as this:

, they will allow you run the system at lower latency settings.
