Soon, snow and from what the Farmers Almanac projects, lots of it. However, in light of all that has and is happening in the gulf, the snow will be nothing. Now if it gets real cold that's another story! This past summer has been exceptionally warm, sunny, don’t remember so many days of blue clear skies in Beeffalo, and dryer than usual. I swear if the beaches had pure white sand and the water wasn’t so bad, I would think I was on some tropical paradise! (Fat chance of that, eh?)
Anyhow, this is the first day of Autumn and I'll be looking for some Autumn music whether it be original or remakes. Bring 'em on!
Yup, September 22, 2005 … another turn of the seasons. Trees are starting to show their multiple colored leafs and the temperature has dropped to more of an Autumn brisk coolness in the mornings.
Well, time to get on with the morning shtick! Have the best possible day me friends!
Now let's hear some Autumn music!:)

That's the worst part of living way down south...this won't happen here until January or February if it happens at all. ENJOY!

AES is just around the corner.
I hope it'll be ready for the show.
I have some stuff I'm wading through right now that could use it.

The trees around me right now are just starting to change color. In about a week or two, they will be in full color, definitely an inspiring sight!

I just readied my snowblower/thrower this weekend. Farmers almanac is calling for one of the worst winters so far. Sounds about par for the course in so much as we hadn't a real disastrous snow storm since the blizzard of 77.
Now, to purchase a decent generator for the home.
Regardless ... Happy Fall! )(~

Hi everyone,
Styxx reminded us that fall is here
and all the gorgeous colors that it brings.
Speaking of colors, and after reading Richard N's post, I thought I would quickly throw this arrangement together on the Garritan Steinway. As you might have guessed, it was played only a few chords at a time, and was arranged on the fly. Just one verse... it's all your fault Richard N. :)
Enjoy!

The leaves don't change for another 2 1/2 months here in Phoenix for the few trees that actually lose their leaves. It's 102F today and forecast to hit 104 on Thursday. Nothing like 100 degree temps in the fall!

Nice ....... Very nice. This I play while sitting on me back deck overlooking the forest at the edge of our yard. There's a tree back there that has turned fire red. Not to mention the deer, turkeys, woodchuck, wabbits, and my John Deere tractor.

So..... it got me wondering; the Brits call it "Autumn", and we (in the US) refer to it as "Autumn" or "Fall". Where did the reference and common usage of "Fall" originate?

"Where did the reference and common usage of "Fall" originate?"
"The alternative word fall is now mostly a North American English (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_English) word for the season. It traces its origins to old Germanic languages (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germanic_languages). The exact derivation is unclear, the Old English (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_English_language) fiæll or feallan and the Old Norse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Norse_language) fall all being possible candidates. However, these words all have the meaning "to fall from a height" and are clearly derived either from a common root or from each other. The term came to denote the season in the 16th century, a contraction of Middle English (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_English) expressions like "fall of the leaf" and "fall of the year".[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autumn#cite_note-2)
During the 17th century, English immigration to the colonies in North America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America) was at its peak, and the new settlers took their language with them. While the term fall gradually became obsolescent in Britain, it became the more common term in North America, where autumn is nonetheless preferred in scientific and often in literary contexts."
