Hi,
Can anybody explain what exactly means 512k
cache on HD. Is it cluster size? I\'m still confused about this parameter.
Thanks Vlad

Vlad,
Assuming your \'HD\' is a hard disk, the 512K cache is a buffer that the system can read from and write to. It helps smooth out responses from the disk so that you don\'t always have to wait for the data to go on and off the disk.

512K is sort of small though. Most of the newer drives are at least 2Meg and many are now coming with 8Meg.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for reply and I should be OK with 2x
Maxtor D740X 6L040J2 ATA133, 40G 7200RPM
8,5 avg seek time and 2Mb SDRAM bufer cache?
Since I replaced my problematic VIA mobo with
TUSL2-C there is no slowdowns and choking CPU
Also my sound bank HD gained speed ATA100 now
Regarding my posted question I just wanna make sure I don\'t miss any parameters.
Regards Vlad
