Velocity layers

Hi,

This might sound like a dumb question but please, don\'t shoot at me, ok ?!?!

I\'m using Gigasampler, and found some decent gig files at wizoosounds.com Anyway, they have a drumkit that has 4 velocity layers... sounds good in the demo.

My question is, what kind of keyboard do I need to play that drumkit with the velocity layers? Do I need a dedicated midi controller (like studiologic, evolution, etc), or will just a normal casio/yamaha keyboard with touch sensitive do the trick???

Hi. I think that most any modern MIDI keyboard will suit you. All it needs to do it put out velocity info on a key strike. Really anything other than a starter, all in one, type synth should do that.

Even if your keyboard didn\'t do that, you could still edit your MIDI velocity info by hand. I do this for drum patterns some times, just to add a little more feel to it.
