Kontakt 1.54x - DFD buffer settings

Hi there,

Can someone tell me the best 'buffer settings' for the DFD set up page. I was getting some drop outs on my 3.0 / 2 gig ram Host and I tweaked it a couple days ago (still had dropouts) but now and get a 'low memory' warning when I load up my template.

Sure would appreciate what others have this set to.

I have had good luck with 2GB RAM and the default settings. Latest Kontakt 1.x version is 1.5.3 BTW.

I think in 1.5.3 there was a lock memory setting that was problematic. Maybe try unchecking that (or checking it).

To avoid low memory you of course need to load less of the samples, but then you will run into possible dropouts. Curious - what kind of polyphony are you seeing from Kontakt before you get dropouts? Does Kontakt have a dedicated hard drive? (not the host's audio drive, a drive another sampler is accessing, or the system drive) If it is a dedicated drive, what kind is it Make/model?
