Is AMD 1Ghz 2Gb DDR good for a Gigastudio dedicated computer?

I already own a Dell 2Ghz 1.5Gb RDram which I do all of my audio editing on. I am building my peripheral computers simply to house Gigastudio 160. Since I am going to need several computers, I am trying to figure out the most cost efficient way to do it. Will an AMD 1Ghz 2Gb DDR run Gigastudio without any hassles? I am so use to Pentium 4\'s that I am unsure about the stability of AMD architecture. Again, the only thing that I will use the computer for is Gigastudio. I would appreciate any advice you can give. images/icons/grin.gif

It should work fine, although you\'ll have to take a gamble on the motherboard. I don\'t know of any safe way to determine if you\'ll be guaranteed 160 sustained voices.... Another thing, if you get 2GB RAM you\'ll be wasting 1GB of them since GS can only utilize 1GB of RAM.

A PC really doesn\'t have to be THAT powerful to get 160 polyphony.

I\'m using an AMD Athlon 1200, RUNNING AT 900, and I get 160 poly without a problem. Tight timing. Hardisks are 7200rpm Maxtor drives on ATA66.

Oh yes, my mainboard is an Asus AMD761 chipset.
