Is it just me, or are others having trouble using the Quote tags these days? For about a week or more now, I can't seem to get quotes to display.

It's worked fine for me the past couple days.

That's interesting because it's still not working for me! I guess it's being discriminatory?

Thanks

Maybe it's browser dependent. I'm on Firefox, both PC and Mac.

I'm on Internet Explorer, but, it has been working for a long time up until about a week ago. Very Strange. I wonder if I accidentally changed some browser settings unintentionally? I'll have to look into this.

Thanks again.

I just tried using quote tags on NI's forum and it seems to work fine there. So, it's probably not just my browser. Maybe a problem with this forum that's browser specific?

If any one else is running a PC with IE, could you please try using a pair of quote tags and see if it works for you? When I imbed a string in the tags it just displays all blanks in that area.

Help!

Try clearing your cache on your browser. Close the browser down. then log in again.

Still no go, I tried clearing the cache and all temporary internet files as well.

This morning, I restored my OS drive completely from an image taken several weeks ago, before the quote problem started. This did not correct the problem either. Furthermore, I will re-emphasize that my browser is able to handle quote tags properly on NI's forum. So why is this only happening to me and only on this forum?

Is there some optional setting (for using the forum) that has accidentally changed?

"Is there some optional setting (for using the forum) that has accidentally changed?"

No, setting my editor to plain text mode doesn't fix the quote problem and this way I lose other capability like being able to use cntrl-B for bold text, etc.
Besides, everything used to work OK in enhanced mode with all the bells and whistles. Why has it changed?

I think the quote function is one of the most missed used features on any forum. Endless text gets re-quoted for no reason. I wish it were turned off.

Testing to see if this works hopefuly it can be seen. Are you placing at least a few words before or after the quote tags. The minimum characters in a post is 10. that could be the problem. currently I see this working in preview mode. If the quotes don't appear for me then it may be something on our end .(bug):)
Test again The should be something before and after the previous quote.:)

Hey Bill,

While I agree about the overuse, there are many situations where quotes are very useful. Take this one for instance. By the time I noticed your comment, several other posts have occured and if I respond to what you said others may have difficulty in connecting it up.

In any case, I'm glad to have it back (but I'll try to use it sparingly:) .
