I\'m considering putting my two cpu\'s in the closet to make them more quiet. Does anyone know how long monitor cables can be? How about USB and firewire?

FYI,

We use the aforementioned CAD-5 extenders in our facillity. They are for the most part fairly reliable, we have stretched monitor and USB signals well over 50 feet without major problems. The monitor does tend to get slightly blurry and the USB signal can go out if there\'s some voltage spike (surge protectors won\'t help).

The best solution is if you can stay within the 5 meter range and just plug everything directly....the CAD 5 route can be expensive and it\'s not perfect!
