It is possible to do you want... However be aware that the hard disk has to be up to the task of spinning itself fast enough and most laptop manufacturers optimise on size and weight (cos thats wot a Laptop is about)and are not into fast drives cos most people who use a laptop do not want to do serious music.

In short, I would be very careful what you buy. After you add your docking station and sound card it defeats the point of having a laptop.

A better solution would be one of the new PC cases that look like a G3 Mac and have handles, then buy yourself a TFT flat screen monitor (around £550 now) and hey ho...

My company bought me one to take out with me and it sure beats slogging around a 17\" monitor....
