I am a massive fan of "classic" Big Band music which in my book is Count Basie, Ted Heath, etc.,

I have only just discovered an album by Quincy Jones called "The Quintessence" [http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000003N9M/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_2/103-0101507-1923071?%5Fencoding=UTF8] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000024HSJ/sr=1-2/qid=1139088811/ref=sr_1_2/103-0101507-1923071?%5Fencoding=UTF8]) and I am bowled over by it.

May I recommend this album to anyone who is interested in Big Band music.

Enjoy!

Hi Richard,
I too, love this album. Years ago I met Billy Byers in NYC when he was working on "City Of Angels" and he told me had arranged that record. His favorite track: Invitation.
David.

Surely Quincy Jones arranged that album?
